Every wedding requires a lot of expenditure in the form of cash. Be it the bride and groom’s shagun or the pandit’s dakshina, these expenses are simply inevitable. But a mass wedding that took place in Gujarat seems to be changing these notions.
As a contribution to the ‘Digital Indian Campaign’, nine couples from Vankar Samaj tied the knot and every payment was done in the form of a cheque or using other digital modes. Organised by Shri Veermaya Vankar Samaj Sudharak Samiti, there were ATM swipe machines installed for those guests who wanted to bless the couples by paying cash.
According to media reports, even the priest was paying INR 7,777 in the form of a cheque.
This one of a kind mass wedding has set an example for all the to-be brides and grooms encouraging them to plan their wedding in a cashless manner.
