Daniel Henry Devanur from Karnataka fell in love with Silvia Noreen from Pakistan and the two tied the knot in the Pentecostal church in Lahore. Daniel's parents couldn't attend the ceremony as they did not have authorized passports back then but after the wedding, Daniel wanted to bring Silvia back to India to live happily ever after.
Turns out the law had ordered something different. Since the couple had got their marriage registered in a Pakistani court, he struggled a lot to bring home his wife as she is a Pakistani. Daniel failed many times in getting a sponsorship certificate for which the gazetted officer must sign on the documents.
Daniel Henry tried every way out but failed. Even then, he did not lose hope and finally tweeted to Sushma Swaraj, the External Affairs Minister of India seeking her help. On special orders, the gazetted officer finally signed on the documents.
Finally, the couple got united as Silvia Noreen arrived on Sunday at NewDelhi. The couple is now present in NewDelhi and will return to Hubli next week.
Well, congratulations, Daniel and Silvia!
