When Bollywood celebrities tie the knot, they create a buzz in the media and among their fans. While some resort to a low-key wedding affair, the others choose to celebrate the event in the most extravagant manner.
The outfits, décor, invitations and guests, everything is worth looking up to and since Bollywood weddings are a great source of inspiration in India, here is a list of the most expensive Bollywood weddings of all times!
1) Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra
Shilpa Shetty married business tycoon Raj Kundra and their wedding was no less than a royal setup. Shilpa was seen flaunting her huge solitaire ring that indicated the expense that must have gone only customising that rock. The ring was then valued at a whopping 3 crore and apart from that, the luxurious outfits of the couple designed by leading designers Tarun Tahiliani and Shantanu & Nikhil were worth a lot. Their wedding venue was another grand one and all expenses together made Raj and Shilpa’s wedding range in crores.
2) Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan
When the Prince of Pataudi and a famous actor marries the diva of Bollywood, there is some magic bound to happen. Looking at the pictures of Kareena and Saif’s custom made designer outfits, the five-day wedding gala and how the Palace of Pataudi was decked up for the high-profile Bollywood celebrities, cricketer and politicians, the worth of their wedding can be very well estimated.
3) Genelia D'Souza and Riteish Deshmukh
Genelia and Riteish make a beautiful couple and talking about their wedding affair, it was indeed beautiful. The couple got married both ways, once following the marathi rituals and the second time in a church. Their wedding images have been very well captured the luxury and extravagance, not only of the D-day but also of the sangeet and mehendi ceremonies. Bollywood celebrities poured in to mark their presence and all of this made Genelia and Riteish’s wedding a memorable one.
4) Avantika Malik and Imran Khan
Avantika and Imran share an adorable love story and when the duo finally tied the knot, their celebrations did justice to their togetherness. Starting from the invitation cards that were one of a kind and uber expensive, the other arrangements lived up to the guests’ expectations. Authentic delicacies, royal décor and alluring outfits stated that a huge sum of money was spent to make this wedding of Amir Khan’s nephew stand out.
5) Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan
Though Aishwarya’s decision of marrying Abhishek Bachchan came as a surprise but the couple decided to take nuptial vows in an extraordinary manner. Away from paparazzi, their wedding was witnessed by some of the country’s most prominent personalities. Aishwarya’s gorgeous outfits and the delicacies clearly reflected the high-priced arrangements.
6) Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha
Even though Dia Mirza is not a very popular Bollywood name but her wedding did gain her a lot of limelight as the duo was on a splurging spree! Dia’s outfits were all from high-end designers and the wedding had not one but many events. She also color-coordinated her outfits with her husband cum business partner and invited the whole of Bollywood fraternity.
7) Asin and Rahul Sharma
Do you know how Rahul Sharma proposed to his lady love? Well, it was with a ring worth 6 crores. Do we need to say any further or you have already got a fair idea of the grandiose that must have been infused in Asin and Rahul’s wedding.
8) Vivek Oberoi and Priyanka Alva
If you want to dress up as a king and queen on your wedding day, take cues from Vivek Oberoi and Priyanka Alva’s grand wedding. Even though the wedding took place in India, most of the decoration including flowers was imported from other countries. Swarovski crystals were used, not to decorate the bridal outfit but to decorate the wedding mandap. The bride and groom were not only dressed in as a regal couple but everything in the wedding looked nothing less than a Mughal-inspired setup.
If you want the same glitz and glamour at your wedding, it’s time to take notes.
