The sweet sound of music has twisted open a lot of bottles of love. This time, it happened at the wedding of a Tam-Brahm couple that decided to tie the knot in a beautifully traditional yet unconventionally cool way.

The singer-bride Akshaya and the drummer-groom Shriram met through a couple of friends, but it was music that gave their love an edge.
The couple jams together in Detroit, and it was during a wedding that they decided to pull off a gig and come up with the name Dulhan Brass Band.

Leaving the guests amazed, this metal mangalyam was covered through the lens of Coffee Stains.

As they swayed the crowd to the rhythm of their music, Akshaya and Shriram seamlessly managed to add the rich Kanjeevarams and fresh gajras
to get into the traditional flow. Focusing on an element, ’traditional is hipster’’, this wedding might just be the first one where you’d get to watch a vocalist sing donned in a saree and the groom in a veshti (dhoti) being rockstars at their wedding.

And, this hipster charm doesn’t end here; the couple chose Everest base camp as their honeymoon destination.

Kudos to the happy couple and never let go of your awesomeness!

Waste of my time reading this. Every foolish new thing in India is started by a Tam Iyer, this is no exception. This sort of publicity will eliminate our traditions. BEAWARE.

Ugh! The music is so jarring and irritating and the bride looked as if so is being forced to sing. Such a bore!

Reply to Indian. You Stupid. The same reason as to why in TamilNadu they ask the caste while registering birth, admission in school, college , for getting job, registering marriage , death and a plethora of certificates. To say in Kamala Hasan's famous words "Avana nirutha sollu naan nirutharen".

This is the trouble with the North indian media. We dont have surnames that identiofy our caste or community. Pls stop using words like Tam Brahm. It shows the little or no care that the media houses in the north adopt when it comes to reporting news items from TN. We dont call anyone as Mr.Iyer or Mr.Nadar. Please.

Response To Venkat " Iyer": Stop using abusive words. 99.999999% of Tamils dont use caste in their names including Brahmins. However it is exceptions e like you who remind everyone that you belong to the remnants of Varunaashramam. I see no reason why you should show off ur caste. I have high regards for Brahmins but you are an exception.

No wonder tam-brahms were the higher caste in days bygone..we were a far more advanced community and will remain so forever!

This is one of the most sincere, original and daring ways to celebrate your beautiful union.Haters will hate, be (weirdly) ashamed/embarassed on your behalf but that doesn't count. What counts is that you went out of your comfort zone, as you do in other areas of your life to prove a point, that life is small, and you have to live big.A huge congratulations to you and your support system, and I wish you all the best in the awesome life you are living.Peace.

@Venkat Iyer. Kamalhassan? Hypocrite.. Says no religion no caste but all his films his characters explicitly reveal his caste and religion. Its mandatory in all his films. Let him practice what he preaches. He is the reason for a particular caste in tamilnadu to get more violent and aggressive.
